PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO GET OUT

AND VOTE ON MAY 18th

WHY I'M RUNNING

WHAT I STAND FOR               WHAT I AM AGAINST

\ An elitist, “ruling class” mentality. I will never forget that my job is to humbly serve you.

\ A “Kelly Day.” The Kelly Day should be renamed “Disaster Day.” I will propose that we immediately do away with Disaster Day and return the firefighters’ schedule to normal. There are other spending and other hours that can be cut.

\ Sunday alcohol sales. I was there when the people spoke loud and clear. The citizens of Harrodsburg – for better or for worse – do not want the sale of alcohol on Sunday. I would have listened and voted according.

\ Secret or emergency meetings. I will not participate in any secret meetings outside of sanctioned executive sessions. I will only participate in emergency meetings when there is a true emergency. Not some sneaky attempt to trample on the rights of the citizens.

\ Inappropriate behavior by any city employee. This includes police officers. While I fully support our police officers in their efforts to protect the citizens, I will do everything in my power to make sure that we never see the level of abuse of and corruption that plagued this city in the past. Your complaints will be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.

\ Discrimination in any form. I will not tolerate any form of unfair treatment to any citizen or employee based on religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, creed, or any other “thing” that does not have to do with that employee’s job performance. Likewise, I will not stand for anything less than every citizen in this town being treated as equal, for whatever reason, by any city employee.

\ Increased property and payroll taxes. Rather than raise taxes I believe in cutting spending. I will look at the budget and the payroll and I will suggest ways to cut what is going out rather than increase what is coming in by increasing your taxes.

\ A city manager. Managing the city should be the job of the mayor and the commissioners. The city manager is a non-elected position that costs the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars a year. We do not need it and I would support abolishing the position.
